We built BAC Calculator Pro because most BAC calculators online are stuck in 2010. Type in three drinks, hit calculate, get one flat number, and that’s it. No context for where you live, no way to log drinks as the night actually happens, nothing to look back on later.
That felt like the wrong way to handle something this important.
Blood alcohol limits are not the same everywhere. A commercial driver is held to 0.04%, not 0.08%. Utah’s legal limit is 0.05%, the only state in the US that isn’t 0.08%. A driver under 21 might have a zero tolerance limit as low as 0.00%. Most calculators quietly ignore all of that and just show you one generic number, usually 0.08%, whether or not it actually applies to you.
We wanted something that treats your situation as specific, not generic. So this tool lets you pick the legal limit that actually applies to you, tracks your real drinks over time instead of a single guess, and shows you a live curve of your estimated BAC rising and falling, not just a snapshot.
The math behind BAC Calculator Pro is based on established pharmacokinetic models, not a made-up formula. We use the Widmark equation and the Watson body-water method, the same general approach used in forensic and clinical BAC estimation, along with an optional body-fat-based model for more precision if you know your body fat percentage.
The calculator accounts for:
Everything runs in your browser. We don’t see your data, store it on a server, or ask you to create an account. Your session stays on your device unless you choose to download a report or share a summary.
No calculator, ours included, can tell you your exact blood alcohol level. Only a breathalyzer or a blood test can do that. Genetics, medication, health conditions, sleep, stress, and how accurately you log your drinks all shift the real number in ways a formula can’t fully capture.
We built this to help people understand their situation better, not to give anyone a false sense of certainty. If there’s one message we want people to leave this site with, it’s this: the only BAC that guarantees you’re safe to drive is 0.00%. If you’re drinking, plan for a sober driver, a rideshare, or public transit before you start, not after.
If you find something that seems off, have a feature idea, or just want to tell us what you think, reach out at [admin.baccalculatorpro@gmail.com]. We read everything.
